My heart and mind were on our beloved gorge and I painted this to celebrate its beauty. Ever since I've lived here, whenever we drive through the gorge I have my phone pressed against the windows, taking pictures around just about every turn. The steep, stacked ridges of tree-lined hills, getting lighter and lighter into the distance, are almost like torn strips of paper layered on top of one another, leading down into the powerful, expansive river below.
