An in-depth look at how film critics, media scholars, and entertainment journalists are shaping frontier language models at Turing.
The evolution of artificial intelligence relies fundamentally on human intelligence and rigorous domain expertise. As Large Language Models (LLMs) expand into creative domains, pop culture, and media history, they require precise guidance from professionals who understand the nuances of storytelling, cinematic history, and entertainment ecosystems.
Turing stands at the forefront of this technological revolution, partnering with the world's leading AI labs to enhance frontier model reasoning, multi-turn conversational capabilities, and factual accuracy. For entertainment professionals looking to pivot into AI training, the TV Shows & Movies Domain Expert position offers a unique, high-impact remote opportunity.
About Turing: Driving the Frontier of Artificial Intelligence
Turing is one of the world's fastest-growing AI companies, dedicated to accelerating the deployment of powerful AI systems. Their core mission operates on two distinct pillars: collaborating with top AI labs to advance frontier model capabilities across thinking, reasoning, coding, and multilinguality, and building real-world enterprise AI solutions that solve mission-critical challenges.
Role Overview: TV Shows & Movies Domain Expert
In this specialized role, you will serve as an evaluator and architect of evaluation datasets. Your objective is to rigorously test Large Language Models across a vast spectrum of entertainment topics—including classic and contemporary films, television series, streaming ecosystems, actors, directors, genres, industry awards, and franchise mythologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advanced Prompt Engineering: Design challenging, nuanced test prompts covering film and television history.
- Response Evaluation: Assess AI-generated outputs for factual accuracy, depth of reasoning, and completeness.
- Hallucination Detection: Identify logical inconsistencies, outdated information, and subtle edge cases.
- Benchmark Development: Construct rigorous benchmark datasets and adversarial test cases.
- Evidence-Based Feedback: Provide authoritative references and explanations justifying your evaluations.
What Your Day-to-Day Looks Like
Working as a domain expert is intellectually rigorous and engaging. A typical day involves writing domain-specific prompts of varying complexity levels, comparing multiple AI responses side-by-side to rank their quality, and drafting clear explanations supported by reliable industry sources. You will also flag ambiguous questions and propose refined prompts to improve model reasoning.
Required Skills & Minimum Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates must possess a deep passion for cinema and television combined with robust analytical discipline:
- Education: Master’s degree or higher in any field, with a preference for Film Studies, Television Studies, Media Studies, Journalism, Communications, English/Literature, or Screen Studies.

- Professional Experience: 3+ years in entertainment journalism, film/TV criticism, media research, content creation, or reporting.
- Communication: Exceptional written English, analytical sharpness, and meticulous attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience working with LLMs, Generative AI evaluation, prompt engineering, published research, or teaching experience is a distinct plus.
