Role Overview: Music and Audio Expert

We are looking for music professionals with formal music education and hands-on experience in performance, production, or audio engineering to help evaluate and improve AI-generated audio data. As generative audio models evolve, human evaluation remains the gold standard for ensuring accuracy, realism, and high fidelity.

What Your Day-to-Day Looks Like

As a Music and Audio Expert at Turing, your daily workflow centers around focused listening and precise data annotation. You will listen to short audio clips and execute tasks such as:

• Identifying the instrument family (Strings, Brass, Woodwind, Percussion, Keyboard, etc.).
• Pinpointing the specific instrument heard within the recording.
• Consulting provided audio references to guide your decisions and maintain objective standards.
• Following clear annotation guidelines to deliver consistent, accurate work under remote conditions.

You Are a Fit If You Meet These Criteria

This role demands a highly trained ear and professional discipline. Ideal candidates possess the following background:

• Formal Education: Bachelor’s degree in Music or a related field.
• Professional Experience: 3+ years of relevant experience in music performance, production, audio engineering, or similar work.
• Aural Skills: A trained ear and a robust ability to recognize and categorize instruments by sound instantly.
• Communication: Strong English communication skills for interpreting complex annotation guidelines.
• Focus: Comfortable with focused, repetitive listening tasks and independent remote work environments.
• Bonus Qualifications: Experience with audio transcription, remixing, music information retrieval (MIR), or AI/data annotation.
