About the Project & Role

Turing is currently engaging tech-lead level, experienced software engineers for the Senior Software Engineer – Rust (LLM Evaluation & Repository Validation) project. This initiative focuses on building comprehensive evaluation and training datasets that teach large language models to tackle realistic software engineering challenges across diverse programming languages and difficulty levels.

This is a hands-on technical role where you will directly influence the future of AI-assisted software development, blending rigorous software engineering practices with advanced AI research.

Required Skills and Experience

To thrive in this high-impact role, candidates must bring a strong technical foundation and demonstrable systems-level expertise:

• Overall Experience: Minimum 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Core Language Proficiency: Strong, production-grade experience with Rust.
• Tooling & Pipelines: Proficiency with Git, Docker, and fundamental software pipeline setup.
• Codebase Navigation: Exceptional ability to understand, navigate, and refactor complex, multi-layered codebases.
• Local Execution: Comfort running, modifying, and testing real-world projects locally.
• Bonus Qualifications: Prior experience contributing to open-source projects, participating in LLM evaluation projects, or building developer tools and automation agents.

Engagement Details & Time Commitments

This is a remote contractor assignment (note that medical and paid leave benefits are not included). Key structural details include:

• Contract Duration: 3 months, with expected starts beginning as early as next week.
• Commitment Options: Choose from 20 hours/week, 30 hours/week, or 40 hours/week (minimum 4 hours per day, requiring a 4-hour daily overlap with PST).

The Interview & Onboarding Process
